Luis Vargas is a six-time consecutive finisher of the Ironman World Championships and the cofounder along with Mark of MarkAllenOnline, the first true online coaching site for the sport of triathlons. Originally from in Columbia, Luis is a long time resident of Boulder, Colorado which is arguably the center of endurance athletics worldwide. He was initially inspired to do triathlons like many by watching the Ironman on television and gradually worked his way from Olympic distance racing, to half Ironman events and then eventually to the full Ironman where he posted his PR in Hawaii of 9:34 in 1993.

His sports experience combined with being a father and having a full time job gives him the perspective necessary to help others with age group aspirations as well as real world obligations reach their best.

"I have been a fore-foot mid-foot runner for a while now so Newton shoes were natural for me. My first run with my Newton shoes was 10 minutes but I am up to an hour and I feel a lot smoother on these shoes. My turnover rate is up to 90 strikes per minute and I had never been able to do that with traditional shoes. I look forward to working with my athletes with these shoes."
